OVERVIEW
Who’s crazy enough to launch yet another energy drink in this crowded market? Turns out, GNC is with their new drink, MAD PONY Energy. When they asked us to create a campaign that millennials and Gen Z kids would notice, we said, “challenge accepted.”
So how did we break through the crowd? With a literal stampede. We wanted to show that every time a Mad Pony can is cracked, a tsunami of energy is released. So we coordinated a surprise stampede of mad ponies through the Venice Beach Boardwalk with YouTube talent, Stuart Edge. Did it work? Buck yeah. On launch day alone, traffic to gnc.com doubled. People started saying, “I want a pony”…Getting cans of Mad Pony into the hands – and hooves – of young people nationwide.
